Hand-Painted Balayage & Botanical Colour
Go beyond formulas and learn the chemistry underneath. Paint by hand, correct with confidence and deliver a full colour service on your own.

Course overview
Colour is where most stylists lose money and confidence, usually for the same reason: they learned formulas instead of chemistry. This programme starts underneath the shade chart, with what is actually happening in the hair, so you can correct your own work instead of hoping it lands.
You will paint by hand from week one, working with our ammonia-free botanical range on live models across a spread of natural bases and hair histories. By the end you will be able to sell, price and deliver a full balayage service without a senior colourist standing behind you.
What you will learn
- Underlying pigment, lift and deposit without relying on a formula sheet
- Freehand painting, teasylights and root melting
- Working with ammonia-free botanical colour and its timings
- Toning, glossing and maintaining tone between visits
- Reading hair history and spotting a correction before you start
- Pricing a colour service so it is actually profitable
Who this is for
- Stylists with at least a year on the floor
- Colourists moving from foil-only to freehand work
- Salon owners bringing botanical colour into their menu
- Anyone who wants to charge properly for colour work
Before you start
- At least one year of salon floor experience, or our Precision Cutting Foundations course
- Confident with a basic consultation and patch test

You leave with more than a certificate
Every graduate finishes with a photographed portfolio of their own work, an assessment record signed by their tutor, and an introduction to the salons in our partner network.
